Los Angeles Rams: Odell Beckham Jr. Has Been Given New Life With Rams

Since bursting onto the scene in 2014 with the New York Giants, Odell Beckham Jr. has been a must see talent in the NFL. He recorded 1,000 yards in five of his first six seasons, showing his dominance. After the Los Angeles Rams lost Robert Woods to a season-ending ACL injury, the signing of Beckham ended up being a most instead of a luxury.

Over the years we’ve seen countless highlight plays, numerous touchdown celebrations, and a ton of breathtaking moments from the 29-year old star. But with Sean McVay, Matthew Stafford and this Rams offense? The best may be yet to come.

Beckham Jr. has been given a breath of fresh air with the Los Angeles Rams. New life, perhaps (cue his self revive Call of Duty touchdown celebration). After a couple of sour and not so productive years in Cleveland, the writing was on the wall. Beckham wanted out.

The narratives of locker room cancer continued when there was hardly any proof. In fact, it’s been quite the opposite in Los Angeles. In a piece by Jourdan Rodrigue in The Athletic, Beckham displayed his leadership with Van Jefferson. Jefferson said,

“I didn’t play my best ball at all,” he said. “I was really down after the (San Francisco) game. Odell sent me this long list of people just talking bad about him, and how he can be better, and he said, ‘Look, bro, I’ve been there, I’ve been through it before. Don’t dwell on this.’ So that encouraged me a lot, for him to do that.”

Fast forward, and here we are. Three games into his stint as a Los Angeles Ram and Beckham has two more touchdowns in half the catches that he had in Cleveland this season. The stars shine bright in Los Angeles, and so will Odell Beckham Jr. on Monday Night Football against the Arizona Cardinals.

The chemistry issues with Matthew Stafford have been apparent early on. However, so has the game-breaking talent and ability that Beckham brings to this group. The best is yet to come. The proof is in the pudding.

We’ve seen flashes of his potential in this offense. Whether it’s the 54-yard touchdown that gave the Rams new life in Green Bay, or a 27 yard completion where he gets loose against Jacksonville. The simple matter is, Beckham is a game-breaking player who can turn a five-yard gain into a touchdown. Beckham even brought a new element to the McVay offense that we haven’t seen at all during his tenure - the end zone fade. Again, after losing Woods for the season, signing Beckham was a blessing.

They say big time players make big time plays, in big time games. Beckham loves bright lights. There is no bigger time for OBJ to have his breakout game with the Los Angeles Rams, than this Monday night in Arizona. Still rebounding from a three-game losing skid and sitting two-games back in the division, the Rams are hungry. They need huge games from their biggest players. It’s very possible that Monday night will spark a postseason run for this squad.

There are many differences between these two teams between the last time they played. The Rams have acquired Von Miller and Beckham. Meanwhile, Kyler Murray and DeAndre Hopkins have also missed time with injuries for the Cardinals. However, make no mistake about it, no one in this matchup will be a bigger difference maker than Odell Beckham Jr.

Buckle up, Rams fans - OBJ has arrived. As his connection with Stafford continues to improve, the game-breaking ability will continue to shine against the NFC’s defensive backs. Look for him to have a huge game, and remind everyone exactly who he is.
