A good draft in fantasy football can set your season up for success. While you may not lose a season in the final few rounds, you can certainly give your a team a good chance at a fantasy football championship by hitting on a player late in a draft. Last season, that player could have been James Robinson.
Here are three players this season to keep an eye on late in your fantasy draft that might give you an edge and set yourself up for a fantasy championship.
Van Jefferson might be the most slept on wide receiver in the later rounds. The 2020 second round pick did not see much action because of Josh Reynolds last season. Reynolds is now a Titan and his departure frees up at least 81 targets. Jefferson could certainly be a beneficiary of that.
With the Rams welcoming their new quarterback Stafford to Los Angeles, he has to develop chemistry with all his new weapons. If Jefferson develops chemistry with Stafford, he could very well be worth that late round flier this fantasy football season and become very dangerous for opposing defenses.
Anthony Firkser, TEN
This is a very similar situation to Van Jefferson. Firkser is now fantasy relevant due to the departure of Jonnu Smith to New England. Last season, Firkser had 39 receptions on 53 targets for 387 yards and one touchdown. Now the starting tight end job for the Titans is his to own.
Firkser is a great late round flier and is on his way to become a fantasy breakout candidate if the Titans use him the way they used Jonnu last season. Some NFL fantasy players like to wait to target the tight end position until later in the draft. Look for him to become your backup tight end in the later rounds.
Parris Campbell, IND
Parris Campbell was the second round pick for the Colts back in 2019. Campbell’s career got off to a very rough start, only playing nine games in two seasons. His career so far has been riddled by injuries. He’s heading into 2021 in great shape and is 100% healthy.
Campbell is incredibly fast and has been working out with new Colts quarterback Carson Wentz for much of the offseason. T.Y. Hilton, Michael Pittman and Parris Campbell are all very good fantasy values this year but look out for Parris Campbell who already seems to have established chemistry with Wentz. Staying healthy is the most important objective for Campbell in order to unleash this season.
