Los Angeles Rams: Top 30 NFL Free Agents to watch for the Rams

The Los Angeles Rams won’t be big players when it comes to NFL Free agency, however, it wouldn’t be surprising to see them make a signing or two to add pieces in positions of need. The team will start the free agency period -$33M over the cap, therefore restructured contracts will need to be done before the Rams can do anything.

However, when the Rams do get under the cap, here is a list of 30 free agents to keep your eye on

1. EDGE Yannick Ngakoue
2. EDGE Melvin Ingram III
3. EDGE Jadeveon Clowney
4. EDGE Romeo Okwara – Re-Signed by Detroit
5. CB Desmond King

Romeo Okwara was just re-signed by the Detroit Lions which is disappointing. He would have been a good fit with the Rams. However, notice how four of my top-5 free agents are edge rushers. This is a position that the Rams will look to address during free agency. They’ll look to bring in a veteran as they have the last two years.

6. C Alex Mack
7. EDGE Carl Lawson
8. S Keanu Neal
9. EDGE Tyus Bowser
10. WR Marvin Jones

If the Los Angeles Rams are not able to bring back Austin Blythe, it makes more sense for them to sign a stop-gap at center while developing a rookie that they select in April’s draft. Alex Mack fits that bill. The team may also look to bring in a veteran presence at safety. Keanu Neal has experience with Raheem Morris. Marvin Jones could also take less to join Matthew Stafford.

11. C David Andrews
12. EDGE Ryan Kerrigan
13. LB Jayon Brown
14. WR Nelson Agholor
15. LB Denzel Perryman

The Los Angeles Rams could look to add a linebacker in free agency. Jayon Brown makes the most sense here, but Denzel Perryman could also go from the Chargers to the Rams. Andrews is another option at center if the Rams lose Blythe. Agholor has been one of the best deep threats in the NFL. Kerrigan gives the Rams a veteran off of the edge who is familiar with Sean McVay.

16. C Nick Martin
17. S Ricardo Allen
18. WR John Ross
19. S Damontae Kazee
20. CB AJ Bouye

Ricardo Allen and Damontae Kazee are interesting options. Both have experience with Raheem Morris while Kazee led the league in interceptions just two years ago. John Ross would give the Rams what they are looking for at wide receiver and has experience in a McVay-like system under Zac Taylor. Bouye could be a name to watch as well. He was paired with Jalen Ramsey in Jacksonville and the two became one of the league’s best cornerback duos.

21. WR Kendrick Bourne
22. CB Mackensie Alexander
23. CB Darqueze Dennard
24. WR DeSean Jackson
25. RB Tevin Coleman

Kendrick Bourne and Tevin Coleman would come over from San Francisco. Bourne would fill Josh Reynolds‘ role and Coleman could be the veteran back in place of Malcolm Brown. With Ramsey and Williams, the Rams don’t need a top cornerback. Dennard has experience with Morris and provides experienced depth along with Mackensie Alexander.

26. OG Kyle Long
27. TE Anthony Firsker
28. WR Kenny Stills
29. TE Tyler Eifert
30. TE Tyler Kroft

In the bottom five, there are three tight ends. The Rams could lose Gerald Everett. While Brycen Hopkins is in place behind Tyler Higbee, the team could look to add a third tight end. Kroft would make the most sense in that third tight end, blocking role. However, Firsker is a similar tight end to Everett who can line up anywhere along the formation or Eifert is someone that the Rams have been connected to.
