Sean McVay officially announced today that the Los Angeles Rams are placing stud strong safety starter Jordan Fuller on injured reserve for the time being. Fuller can indeed be activated from the list in three weeks but this is a huge blow to the Rams. While the team has drafted safeties Taylor Rapp and Terrell Burgess over the last two drafts, it’s important to realize the Rams have barely played Burgess and that Rapp has been a huge liability in coverage.
We will learn more as the week goes on but this is a huge loss and a big break for the San Francisco 49ers this Sunday night.
The Rams today put rookie safety Jordan Fuller on IR (shoulder). McVay told reporters yesterday, “He had a little stinger. It's more of his neck, kind of, just having a stinger” and the team was continuing to monitor the situation.
