While the Los Angeles Rams did acquire ex-Broncos linebacker Justin Hollins off waivers, it was uncertain if the newcomer would be ready to be active for week one of the NFL season. According to Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic that is no longer a question as Sean McVay confirmed to Jourdan that Hollins will be ready to go on Sunday Night Football versus the Cowboys.
New linebacker Justin Hollins is a “quick study”, says Sean McVay, and he is going to get a jersey this Sunday. Sounds like initial plans are to add OLB depth with Terrell Lewis out, and have him drop inside as necessary. Adds Brandon Staley is the reason the team brought him in.

It’s unclear how big of a role Hollins will have since he just joined the Rams yesterday but this is a very good endorsement from Head coach Sean McVay on Hollins and his ability to learn the familiar Brandon Staley defensive scheme in a hurry. It also does speak a lot to the Rams’ lack of inside linebackers on the roster and their depth receiving a gash with Terrell Lewis out for the time being.
