The Los Angeles Rams are officially eliminated from playoff contention. Their season is over.
The San Francisco 49ers beat the Rams 34-31 on a 33-yard Robbie Gould field goal in the final seconds of regulation and just like that, the season is over. The Rams won’t finish under .500 for the third straight year, and if they can win versus Arizona in week 17, they can say the same about seasons over .500.
Jared Goff was 27/46 and threw for 323 yards, but a costly pick-six gave the 49ers momentum and the lead. Todd Gurley ran for 15 times and gained 48 yards, averaging 3.2 yards-per-carry.
The Rams defense held its own against Kyle Shanahan’s offense, getting two interceptions, five sacks, and allowing 24 points. The stars of the night were Tyler Higbee and Robert Woods, each netting 100-plus yards receiving respectively.
The Los Angeles Rams’ season is over, the offseason begins now.
