NFC West

The 2019 season officially begins on Thursday with the Hall of Fame game. The Los Angeles Rams won’t get started until two weeks later, but football season is nearing. The Rams are coming off of back-to-back NFC West titles. No team has won the division more than two times in a row since the Seattle Seahawks won the division in four straight years from 2004-07.

All season long the DTR Staff will take part in polls. Similar to the DTR Top-10, every writer will submit a poll that will be taken into account for the overall more extensive poll. 15 writers participated in this latest poll, meaning it should be a good one.  This next one will be our Preseason All-NFC West.

First Team Offense (First Place Votes)

QB – Russell Wilson – SEA (12)
RB – Todd Gurley – LAR (13)
RB – David Johnson – ARI (2)
WR – Robert Woods – LAR (8)

LT – Andrew Whitworth – LAR (15)
LG  – Laken Tomlinson – SEA (6)
C – Justin Britt – SEA (8)
RT – Rob Havenstein – LAR (10)
RG – Austin Blythe – LAR (9)

Of the  11 positions on offense, the Los Angeles Rams dominated the first-team of the NFC West offense with seven players. Our voters don’t have a problem with Gurley’s injury and believe he’ll pick up where he left off. Woods and Cooks remain the best wide receiver division in the division.

Second Team Offense (First Place Votes)

QB – Jared Goff – LAR (3)
RB – Chris Carson  – SEA
RB – Tevin Coleman – SF

Goff received three first-place votes, but it wasn’t quite enough to surpass Wilson. Everett makes the second team as well.
