The Rams have made a couple of moves post-mini camp which include the waiving of two players. Recently acquired waiver claim Larry Rose III and UDFA signing Chucky Williams were the two waived from the team today.
For Rose, it’s not a complete shock as the Rams do have a solid looking backfield already. The surprise might be the timing but apparently the Rams saw all they needed to in order to decide where they were going. The man in the back of the picture behind him Nick Holley might have something to do with the decision. Holley is an intriguing player that has played QB, RB and WR. He’s looking to stick just at the running back spot in the pro’s.
As for Williams, being a player that was considered a favorite by some to make the roster and fill the void left behind with Cody Davis’ departure, it is also a tad surprising. Once again though, this team does a great job at evaluating the young talent and clearly the team felt they should move on from the former Louisville Safety. It’s hard to say Nick’s brother Nate Holley had something to do with it but the recently-signed Holley brother is still on the roster as Williams has been waived. It sure makes you wonder.
Overall, it’s early and we have yet to have seen these players in full on pads but now we know that the Rams have just opened up two roster spots and it will be interested to see what they choose to do with them.
