The wait is over for the the Rams defensive star and best defensive player in the league, Aaron Donald. Donald has officially won the AP Defensive Player of the Year award after another elite-level season.
Donald finished his season 41 total tackles, 11 sacks and five forced fumbles as the anchor of a Rams defense that went all the way to the playoffs. Donald has been the best the interior defensive lineman for a few years now and he even took that a step further. Donald finished with 91 pressures according to Pro Football Focus which was far ahead of the top EDGE rushers in the NFL, Von Miller and last year’s DPOY Khalil Mack.
The sky is certainly the limit for Donald who now possesses and unbelievable career stat line of 205 combined tackles, 39 sacks, nine forced fumbles, nine pass defenses and two fumbles recovered in his first four seasons in the NFL.
Now, we all know what is upcoming…The moment for the Rams to break out the checkbook and pay Aaron Donald. That may not be this season, but it’s certainly coming.
