Who is the 6-foot-4, 213 pound Kenny Golladay?
He’s a guy who possesses NFL size that would put fear in the eyes of most NFL defensive backs. He was a second-team All-MAC selection in 2015, bringing in 73 receptions for over 1100 yards and 10 TD’s. This past 2016 season he received All-MAC 1st team selection, with 87 receptions, his second consecutive season with over 1100 yards receiving, and 8 TD’s. He started his career at North Dakota State but chose to transfer Northern Illinois University after his coach was fired. Golladay can be huge sleeper in this NFL Draft, teams will wager on when he will be selected.
Has NFL prototype body with natural hands.
Ability to eat up defensive backs cushion.
Ability to create additional vertical separation.
Ability to go way up or catches ball thrown low to the ground.
Has good body control that keeps his shoulders square through-ought his routes.
Good awareness and ability to track the ball under thrown or offline.
Uses his length to extend and snag everything out in front
Initiative to jump up to get the ball and he fights for all the balls.
Playing in the MAC had very low exposure.
May be concern on bump and run coverage’s.
Tends to be redirected when running timing routes.
Running routes needs to improve to a higher level or next level.
Need to be more creative in not tipping certain routes.
Tends to wait to block in the run game.
How does he fit with the Rams?
The Rams can draft Golladay because his ability to stretch the field, but with his impeccable size, he has the physical body to become a red zone mismatch. His athletic frame, speed, and great hands will be a plus because the fact Rams will be moving on from Kenny Britt and Brian Quick, he can be a huge replacement. Rams would be getting a steal with Golladay.
