This week the Rams will travel to Arizona to play the Cardinals. A bit of a surprise is that it is the Rams who in fact are leading the division instead of the preseason favorite Cardinals. Us at Downtown Rams will once again delve into the fantasy aspect of tomorrows game.
Carson Palmer – QB – Fanduel 8000 – Draft Kings 6300
Carson Palmer had a rough week in his last game against the Bills where he threw four interceptions on the Cardinals last four drives but don’t expect that again against the Rams. Most will expect a bounce back performance this week and with a 6300 price tag on Draft Kings it may be a good bet based on his very high ceiling. In all other formats I would stay away based on how these teams play each other and the fact that the Cardinals did a horrific job of protecting Palmer last week against a DLine that’s not nearly as talented as the Rams front four. Add in the addition of former starter EJ Gaines and it could be another slow day for Palmer which is why his floor is as low as the bottom quarter of the league.
David Johnson – RB – Fanduel 8700 – Draft Kings 7800
David Johnson is one of the best backs in the league, period. If you have him in regular fantasy play him regardless of the team or matchup. If you’re playing in daily fantasy it may be tougher to play him each week based on price but all in all, Johnson is a starter every week who has an awesome ceiling and very high floor. Start David Johnson..
Larry Fitzgerald – WR – Fanduel 7500 – Draft Kings 7200
Fitz is one of the most consistent players the NFL has ever seen and his biggest games tend to come against the Rams every year. Being a Ram supporter believe me when I say it, I would start Larry Fitzgerald especially with his modest price in daily fantasy. Add in that Fitz has been the only thing good that has happened in the receiving group so far this season and I expect that to continue tomorrow against the Rams.
Cardinals – DEF – Fanduel 5300 – Draft Kings 3900
This Cardinals team has not been as dominant as many expected coming into the season but this game should be a slow slugfest that nearly every NFC West game is and should provide a low score for this defense. However, with the high price tag on most daily fantasy sites I would go with a more cost effective defense. On regular fantasy I would play them with an expectation of a low score allowed and not many, if any turnovers.
Todd Gurley – RB – Fanduel 7700 – Draft Kings 6700
Mr. Gurley will get going and with the Cardinals lacking run defense this could be the game. Along with the typical NFC West game, Gurley has slowly dropped in price on daily fantasy and provides a great ceiling for his going rate. Once again, if you drafted Gurley you must play him based on draft position and the fact that the RB position is depleted after a run of injuries around the league.
Rams – DEF – Fanduel 4400 – Draft Kings 2700
The Rams defense will gain starter EJ Gaines back this week but could be without William Hayes. This is the week I expect the Rams to either lead in defensive fantasy points or finish at the bottom. If the Rams can produce pressure against Palmer it could lead to multiple turnovers leading to a big day for both the defense and Gurley. The other scenario is they get blown out by Palmer and Co. With a low price tag in daily fantasy I have them in all lineups allowing me to use the capital on other positions. If you have a safer play in regular fantasy leagues such as a stream against the Browns, use them.
