LA Rams @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers Fantasy Preview

This week the Rams will visit the Buccaneers for the third game of the season in what will a rematch of last years game.  The Rams shredded the Bucs and their rookie quarterback, Jameis Winston, but this year should be a better game all around.

Buccaneers

Mike Evans – WR – Fanduel 8000 – Draft Kings 7000

Mike Evans has become an everyday starter for any fantasy team based on the amount of targets he garners from improving starter Jameis Winston.  This week is no different but if he is shadowed by Trumaine Johnson, who is also over 6’2″, it could be an average day.  For Fanduel he is a little overpriced for my liking but on draft kings he is a great starter for the right matchup.  This weeks matchup…Ehhh, could go either way…

Charles Sims – RB – Fanduel 6300 – Draft Kings 4900

Charles Sims is named here mainly because of his pass catching ability and his relatively modest price on Draft Kings.  Although he won’t run the ball quite like Martin, in PPR leagues he can be quite valuable especially weeks like this one where he is the unquestioned starter.

Jameis Winston – QB – Fanduel 7600 – Draft Kings 6000

Winston has become a spot starter for most leagues and a matchup play on daily fantasy due to his big receiving threats and mobility.  This week I do not expect a big output due to the Rams ability to stuff the run and after last years showing where Winston was shut down by the Rams pass rush, I expect the same.

Buccaneers – DEF – Fanduel 4500 – Draft Kings 3100

It has become tradition to name a Rams opposing DEF in this article because of the lack of production from the Rams offense.  However, this week is one I would stray away from the Buccaneers based on the performance the Rams and Keenum put on them last year.  I wouldn’t expect as much offense as last year but I would expect a breakout game from Todd Gurley and possibly Tavon Austin.

Rams

Todd Gurley – RB – Fanduel 8300 – Draft Kings 7100

This is the week folks.  Todd Gurley won’t be shut down all year and after facing two good front sevens the first two weeks, Gurley will get Gerald McCoy and Lavonte David this week.  I expect a good showing this week and with his modest price on Draft Kings, have in my lineup.  Fanduel is quite high on Gurley still and once again for those who drafted Gurley he’s a must play based on draft position.  Don’t fret, he will break out and this could be the week.

Tavon Austin – WR – Fanduel 5900 – Draft Kings 4100

Another Ram in my lineups this week is Tavon Austin.  Last year he feasted on this team with multiple touchdowns and a ton of touches.  This week should be no different as the Rams will look to involve Austin more than he has been in the first two weeks.  Like Gurley, at some point Austin will have a big game, although much less predictable than Gurley.  This week I expect good things from Austin and the Rams offense.

Rams – DEF – Fanduel 4500 – Draft Kings 3000

The Rams DEF is a tough call this week.  Do you play them based on last weeks performance or worry that Winston and Evans will shred them?  I would play them if you don’t have a stream option based on the fact that without Martin, the Rams will stuff the run and force the Buccaneers into long third downs allowing the pass rush to reach Winston.  With an average price on Draft Kings and a high price on Fanduel I would stay away and use a stream option such as the Dolphins.

Overall

All in all the Rams and Buccaneers have one solid play a piece being Gurley and Evans.  The others are totally based on feeling towards the player and how you view the matchup.  If this game goes like it did last year with both team having injuries then the Rams are a better play but I would not expect this and in fact would expect a better showing out of Winston.
