L.A. Rams cut CB Steve Williams, promote S Isaiah Johnson from Practice Squad

The Los Angeles Rams have released CB Steve Williams after never activating him for a regular season game. The former Lion safety Isaiah Johnson that the Rams recently placed on their practice squad has promoted and now the Rams have four Safeties and five Cornerbacks. The move was announced by the team and one can only wonder if Johnson will be active this Sunday.

Johnson is a 24-year old undrafted Safety out of Georgia Tech who stands at 6-foot-1 and 202 pounds. He spent 2015 on the Lions practice squad and they waived him this year right before the start of the season. The Rams scooped him up and now he is being promoted 17 days later. Johnson will wear Tre Mason’s old number 27.

It is not known yet what the Rams plan to do with their final spot on the practice squad that was just freed up wit this move. We will update you as soon as we know.
