The Vikings lost their franchise quarterback Teddy Bridgewater to a torn ACL in practice this past week but they have reportedly made the move for Sam Bradford. The Vikings will trade a 1st-round pick and a 2018 pick for Bradford to the Eagles. It is worth noting when the Rams were trying to ship Bradford away to clear cap space the Vikings were considered one of the suitors that wanted Bradford.
It’s an interesting situation now for Bradford who reunites with old college teammate Adrian Peterson and his former back-up on the Rams Shaun Hill. The Vikings have seen Bradford up close and personal so they must feel comfortable pulling the trigger.
It’s certainly telling how much stock the front office puts into this Vikings team and its clear they think the Vikings are a Super Bowl contender or they wouldn’t have given up serious draft capital to trade for Bradford.
This is a very smart move by the Eagles who drafted QB Carson Wentz no.2 overall in the draft this year and signed Chase Daniel to some serious deal to be the teams starting QB. In the Wentz trade the Eagles parted with a serious amount of draft capital and since Philadelphia will be hosting the draft it might be smart for the Eagles to actually have a pick of their own in the 1st-round
Now hold everything with the narrative that Wentz may not play until next season because whether he’s ready or not an injury to Daniel would mean it’s his team for the taking. This is exactly why we love sports and mainly football in general though. Who saw this coming? No one, thats who…
