Tonight is the last preseason game of the year and for many it could be their last chance to prove to their coaching staff that they should be on the opening day roster. Here are five games I believe will earn their roster spot tonight.
Paul McRoberts, Wide receiver
The young wide receiver out of Southeast Missouri State lost his brother after he was murdered. We saw it on hard knocks and now McRoberts is on the last roster before the final cut down to 53. McRoberts has quietly had five catches for over 50 yards and while that may not seem impressive because Nelson Spruce accomplished that type of statline in his first game. McRoberts has been the only one on the fringe of making the roster that have seemed to catch everything that has come his way. Tonight expect McRoberts to get in the game early and show why they made a mistake leaving him on the sidelines at the end of last week’s contest.
Eric Kush, Center
The fun loving Hard Knocks darling Kush has had rookie QB Jared Goff’s back from the very beginning. He has played well this offseason and will continue to play his way onto the roster as a versatile hybrid center/guard.
Ian Seau, Defensive end
The fan favorite who seems just as likely to make the roster as he is to not make it. The nephew of Junior Seau is going to need to show off tonight to get on the craziest defensive line rotation in the NFL. I believe in Seau and I think the coaches may have cut DE Quinton Coples to free up the spot for him. Now he just needs to earn it tonight and I believe he will.
Cory Littleton, Linebacker
The last player on this list is a kid from the University of Washington who missed OTAs due to the fact that school was still in session. Now Littleton has shown in limited time that he might be better than some of the linebacker’s that have had the whole offseason with the Rams. He flashed big time in week two and still was solid in week three. Tonight Littleton will have to show he’s better than the rest of the linebackers. Keep in mind the Rams kept almost every single one of them so Littleton does have a competition. I think tonight Littleton will show he has too many tools as a coverage linebacker and a situational pass rusher that Gregg Williams will be begging Fisher to keep. Littleton will make the roster after tonight.
So there’s your four players for tonight to not only keep an eye on but ready yourself to see on the roster during the 2016 season…
