The Los Angeles Rams are getting ready to play their second preseason game, this time against the Kansas City Chiefs. While it is just a preseason game, what makes this one in particular important is that Jared Goff will get his first look with the first team offense.
So, what is the Rams’ plan for the quarterbacks later tonight?
Fisher has said that Keenum will actually get the official start for the Rams, but he will only play a series or two, then, it will be Goff. The rookie quarterback will play into the third quarterback before Sean Mannion once again finishes it off.
It’s highly unlikely that all of the starters will play into the third quarter, but a series or two with Goff playing with the starters is very important. As Fisher said, it’s important for Goff to play with the one’s in order to build some chemistry there for when he eventually does take over.
Goff didnt have the best preseason debut going 4/9 for just 38 yards and an interception, but hopefully he can show improvement in his second showing. If he throws the ball with confidence this week, that’s all Rams fans really need to see.
The rookie quarterback is a player who gets better with experience and learns from his mistakes. He’ll certainly be a player all Rams fans will be watching when he does take the field.
What is also worth noting is that while Goff will get some looks with the starters, that will likely not include Todd Gurley. Gurley will finally play tonight, but Fisher said it will only be for a series or two.
The Rams play the Chiefs at the LA Coliseum tonight at 6PM Pacific time.
