After missing Saturday’s game against the Dallas Cowboys, offensive tackle Isaiah Battle is going to miss some more time. During Wednesday’s practice, Battle was carted off the field after having just returned to the field Ventura County Star’s Rams reporter Joe Curley tweeted.
The Rams selected Battle in the fifth round of the supplemental draft last season and coming into this year, many had high hopes for him. The offensive lineman spent most of last year on the practice squad and was looking to make a name for himself in training camp.
Battle has not had the easiest road after being selected in the supplemental draft and was considered to be a player on the edge of making the roster. Not being able to play or practice for that matter doesn’t help his case.
While maybe not a starter, the Rams need depth on the offensive line and that is something that Battle brought to the roster. The team has been able to avoid the injury bug for the most part thus far, hopefully with Battle it’s nothing serious and he can return to the field in no time.
